Our story
Deirdre’s House opened in doors in 1996 with the purpose of providing a safe, child-friendly place for child victims to tell their stories and receive services that ensure that though their lives may be altered by the abuse they suffered, that their lives will not be defined by it. We are focused on providing hope, healing, and justice to every child that we serve.

Our approach
Child-focused
Children are at the center of everything we do. Our environment, services, and practices are designed to promote their safety, dignity, voice, and well-being while providing a supportive, trauma-informed space where they can begin to heal and feel empowered.
Collaboration
When a child has experienced abuse, families should never have to navigate a complex system alone. As the lead and hub for the Morris County Child Abuse Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), Deirdre’s House brings professionals together to protect children, restore safety, and support healing. By coordinating our expertise and services, we reduce stress and further trauma for children and families.
Trauma-informed
We are dedicated to providing high-quality, trauma-informed, and timely support to every child and family. Our approach is designed to reduce trauma, support caregivers, and ensure that every child has access to the services and care they need.
Accessible
We work to remove barriers to care by providing all services at no cost to the child and family and offering services in both English and Spanish. When transportation is a barrier, we help families access transportation so they can receive the support they need.
